Fire Rated Chutes

Superchute manufactures fire rated chutes in 3 materials:

1. Fire Retardant Plastic (1/4" wall)

2. Galvanized Steel (0.05" wall)

3. Hard Aluminum (1/8" wall)

Even if Fire Rated sections are used, Fire Prevention Precautions still apply.

All sections are equipped with two 10,000 lb (Breaking Strain) cable assemblies.

1. Black Fire Retardant Plastic Sections - Wraparound Style

Specifications:

• 1/4" wall
• Made of Fire Retardant Plastic (this plastic will retard the spread of fire but is not fireproof).
• The black plastic is 5 times more abrasion resistant than the plastic used in the yellow chutes.
• Section Height: 46”
• Upper Diameter: 30" (or 36”)
• Lower Diameter: 29" (or 35”)
• Working Length: 40"

Weight per 30" dia Section:

• Top Hopper: 55 lb
• Regular Section: 50 lb
• Door Section: 65 lb

Weight per 36" dia Section:

• Top Hopper: 65 lb
• Regular Section: 60 lb
• Door Section: 75 lb

• The plastic has been subjected to the following tests:

• UL 94V-0 (result: Pass)
• ASTM E 84-08 (result: Class 2)
• Boston Fire Department Test for Non-Combustible Materials (result: Pass)
• ASTM E-662 (result: Pass)
• Bombardier 800 (result: Pass)
• MSHA (Mine Safety and Health Administration (result: Approval)

2. Galvanized Steel Sections - Wraparound Style

Specifications: • 0.05" wall (18 Gauge)  • Non-combustible • Section Height: 48” • Upper Diameter: 30" • Lower Diameter: 29" • Working Length: 40" The loading pans & curtains of the entry sections are made of 1/4" FR plastic. Weight per Section: Top Hopper: 78 lb Regular Section: 70 lb. Door Section: 90 lb. Weights last verified Oct 23/2008

3. Hard Aluminum Sections - Welded Style

Specifications:

• 0.125" wall (1/8")
• Non-combustible
• Section Height: 48”
• Upper Diameter: 30"
• Lower Diameter: 24"
• Working Length: 40"

Weight per Section:

• Top Hopper: 55 lb.
• Regular Section: 48 lb.
• Door Section: 65 lb.
